3LP set Lost Highway - B0002368-01

Live @ The Fillmore is Lucinda Williams' eighth album, and her first live album. It was released in 2005. Though rated highly for the live performance, the album received criticism for only containing album tracks, including 11 from her previous album, 2003's World Without Tears.

Pretty hard to find 3LP set. Very much a Crazy Horse sound to much of it.

Thanks!

I blast all the CWhitley every day...

I love Lu but found the CD disappointing. Maybe Hoffman will have somehow improved the performances. I'm certainly willing to give it a listen to find out.

IMHO, the best live set out there by Lu is her ACL DVD. That is a must see if you haven't.

Thanks for this.

Sorry, that was not meant for this post, Hoffman had nothing to do with this, I had copied my last post (Bonnie Raitt) as a draft.

But, I do think the LP version is much more balanced than the "in your face" blast of the CD. But if you didn't like the performance, well, sorry, it's the same... I personally liked Blake Mills on guitar better, but that was short lived.

I thought the smiley indicated that the part about improving the performance was intended as humor. I wondered how I had missed the Hoffman involvement previously.

Did you ever see the ACL DVD?
86ed said…
No, never seen the DVD, a few clips I believe on youtube is all.

Thanks so much for this 86ed, can't wait to check it out.

I wore my cd of this out from overplaying, especially disc 1 (which I think has the better performance). Can't believe this set was heavily criticized when released - people were unhappy with the performance & song choices; I think the performance is very honest, very moving, very real. It has feeling.

Thanks 86ed for my favorite alt.country girl. Not the greatest singer, but she sure is the real deal. My favorite song on the lp is "Those Three Days." Blows me away everytime I hear it.

Thank you, 86ed .

Thanks for this 86ed, I got a mp3 of this maybe when it came out. I really enjoyed it and it was probably my introduction to Lou.
I haven't heard it since I went Hires. So I am delighted to see an old favourite turn up here and take its rightful place back into my everyday listening.
And 86ed, its not the first old favourite you've brought back to life for me. Many thanks

Great album, 86ed! It's a shame they didn't include some of the other songs that were played on these 3 nights (she did a GREAT version of "Still I Long For Your Kiss" and pretty sure "Masters of War" was in there too).

You can't have too much Lu.. especially with Doug Pettibone on guitar!

Thank you so much.

I haven't known her before but with the way she sings her songs, she captures me... Thanks a lot for this, 86ed!

Never though that I would ever see a rip of this great album. Love the rough sound. Indeed very much like Crazy Horse. If you're in the right mood this knocks you off your feet. Thank you very much.
